60th-Birthday-Bagpipes Portishead 10th July, 2021.
A Great time in Portishead, North Somerset last night. Bagpiping for George’s 60th Birthday Surprise. I approached the home address playing “The Green Hills of Tyrol” with “The Battle’s O’er” & “Happy Birthday”.
A number of medleys followed that included 6/8 Marches: “Dovecote Park”, “Donald Maclean of Lewis” & “Major John Macllenan”. In addition, The Theme and National tunes reflected George’s Grandfather’s Military Service with The Black Watch Regiment.
In conclusion, my participation finished with “Flower of Scotland” & “Land of My Fathers”. This recognised the family’s Scots connections & those who had travelled over from Wales.
