Bagpipes-Bridgend-Cemetery-Interment 28th Nov, 2024.
A visit to Bridgend Cemetery today. Bagpiping for the ‘Interment of Ashes’ of a South Shields born Gentleman, with a love of Bagpipes.
As the family & friends approached, I played family selected tunes that included: “Danny Boy”, “Calon Lan”, “When Irish Eyes are Smiling” & “The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen”.
The graveside service was carried out by Julia Page Humanist Ceremonies. On completion, I continued playing with other family selected tunes, namely: “The Skye Boat Song”, “Flower of Scotland” & “Going Home”.
On completion and having offered our condolences to the family, I slowly moved away to “Salute to Willie, The Royal Fendersmith”.
Our thoughts to the many family & friends.
