Bagpipes-Glyntaff-Crematorium-Funeral 23rd Feb, 2022.
A Great Honour today, Bagpiping at Glyntaff Crematorium and Cemetery. This was for the Funeral of a local Gentleman with links to Campbelltown, in Argyll & Bute, Scotland.
The Gentleman arrived for his final journey on a 1966 Vintage Routemaster Bus. He had driven this bus in his employment years.
Tunes to the chapel included: “The Skye Boat Song” & “Cwm Rhondda”. As well as, “The Mull of Kintyre”, in addition to, “Queen Elizabeth II Salute”.
Thereafter, I met mourners outside of the chapel. Tunes were: “Calon Lan”, “Flower of Scotland”, along with, “Land of My Fathers”.
(CampbellTown PipeBand was famed for the tune “Mull of Kintyre” in 1978 with Paul McCartney’s band Wings).
