Bagpipes-Remembrance-Service-Cowbridge 14th Nov, 2021.
Bagpiping in Cowbridge Town today for the Service of Remembrance. In addition, my participation involved Bagpiping for the Laying of the 50 Wreaths.
Moreover, The poignant and well known Military connected tunes included:
“Oft in the Stilly Night” – which is regularly played by the Massed Pipes & Drums at the Cenotaph in London.
As well as, “My Home” & “The Mist Covered Mountains”- played at the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother’s Funeral in 2002.
In addition, “Flowers of the Forest” – Regularly played at Remembrance Services, Funerals & other occasions.
In conclusion, “Sleep, Dearie Sleep” – Played by Maj. Gavin Stoddard (Army Retired), who played the Lone Piper at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in his last year of service 2003. On that occasion he played the Bagpipe Set & tune, his father played for the same, 60 years before.
