Funeral-Bagpipes-Gilfach-SirhowyCrem 17th Jan, 2025.
Funeral Bagpiping today, for the service of an Army Veteran of the 17th/21st Lancers Regiment, who had a love of all things Scottish.
I led the cortege from the family home with “Land of My Fathers”.
On arrival at Sirhowy Valley Crematorium, I led to the chapel to the requested: “The Mull of Kintyre” & “The Skye Boat Song”. At the entrance we were also met by Armed Forces Veteran Standard Bearers.
I led into the chapel with “Flower of Scotland”. After the Committal, I played a Piobaireachd Salute, before leading mourners into the Memorial Garden with “Amazing Grace” and “Going Home”.
Our Condolences to the many family & friends. Thank You also to the family for presenting me with a 17th/21st Lancers lapel badge for my services.
Working once again with the very professional Adrian & his team of D J Thomas Funeral Directors of Bargoed.
