Funeral-Bagpipes-Morriston-Cemetery 8th Feb, 2023.
Bagpiping today at Morriston Cemetery. This was for the very well attended Funeral of a Gentleman who spent time in Scotland. He loved playing Scots tunes on musical instruments.
My brief was to lead the Funeral Cortege, including 4 Black Pristine horses with carriage by South Wales Horse Drawn Funerals to the exchange point. The requested tune was “The Green Hills of Tyrol” (aka The Scottish Soldier). A tune the Gent regularly played on the Harmonica..
At this point the coffin was shouldered by family members. I then led to the gravesite with “Salute to Willie, The Royal Fendersmith” & “Sleep, Dearie Sleep”.
