Funeral-Bagpipes-Wenallt-Thornhill-Crematorium 30th Nov, 2021.
A return to Thornhill Crematorium yesterday. Bagpiping for the Funeral of a local Gentleman. I met the Coles Funeral Directors Cortege on the approach. Then continued to lead to Wenallt Chapel.
The tunes played were, “My Home” & “The Mist Covered Mountains”. Thereafter, this was followed by the family requested “Amazing Grace”.
In addition, shortly before the entrance into the chapel, the bearers paused as I played “Land of My Fathers”. This reflected the international sporting heritage of the gentleman & for the 100’s of mourners who listened to the service outside.
In conclusion, following the service & as mourners entered the Memorial Garden. The Welsh Theme continued with “Cwm Rhondda (Guide Me O Great Redeemer)”, “Myfanwy”, as well as, “Sou Gan” (A Welsh Lullaby). Then concluding with a Piobaireachd Salute – Queen Elizabeth II.
Our Condolences to the family & many mourners.
Working once again with the very professional Angela & her team of Coles Funeral Directors
