Funeral-Bagpipes-Westerleigh-Bristol 16th Oct, 2025.
Funeral Bagpiping today at Westerleigh Crematorium near Bristol. This was for an Aberdeenshire born Gentleman. The Gent was a Suez Veteran, Royal Engineer & Para.
On approach, I led the cortege to the chapel to “My Home” with “The Mist Covered Mountains”.
Awaiting the service live feed, I played “Flowers of the Forest” with “The Dark Isle” to reflect the Gent’s Military Service.
To lead into the chapel, I played the requested: “The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen”. Shortly after the Committal, I played “Queen Elizabeth II Salute” (Piobaireachd – Urlar).
At the end of the service I led the mourners out to the memorial garden to the requested: “Sleep, Dearie Sleep” and “Salute to Willie, The Royal Fendersmith”.
Our Condolences to the family & many friends.
Working with the very professional Team from Sheppard Funeral Directors.
