Bagpiping at Thornhill Crematorium today. This was for the Funeral of an Elgin born lady. The service took place at Briwnant Chapel.
On the approach of the cortege, I led playing “Flowers of the Forest”. This reflected an other late family member’s background. A Bagpiper, therefore, a former member of the Black Watch Regiment. In addition to, “The Skye Boat Song”, for instance, to remember the deceased’s love of Isle of Skye holidays.
The requested entry tune was “Highland Cathedral”.
Similarly, for the departure, I played “Going Home” with “Amazing Grace”. After that, a Classical Piobaireachd – “Queen Elizabeth II Salute”.
