Funeral-Bagpiping–LangstoneVale-Crematorium 7th Oct, 2024.
Funeral-Bagpiping today at Langstone Vale Crematorium today. This was for a local lady with Aberdeen origins. On the approach and with a brief to maintain a Scots theme, I led the cortege to the chapel with “The Skye Boat Song” & “The Mull of Kintyre”.
The Chapel entry was to the appropriate “The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen”.
After the Committal, I played a short ‘Salute’: “Queen Elizabeth II Salute”, the first part of this classical Piobaireachd tune.
As mourners entered the Memorial Garden, I played “Salute to Willie, The Royal Fendersmith” & “Sleep, Dearie Sleep”.
Our sincere condolences to a very appreciative family.
