Bagpiping at St Illtud’s Church, Llantwit Major today. This was for the Funeral of a local gentleman who had lived in Wales for many years, but had Scots Heritage.
For the arrival of Funeral procession, I played “Flowers of the Forest” as well as, “The Dark Isle”.
To lead into the church the family selected tune was “Amazing Grace”. In addition, the departure was to “The Skye Boat Song”.
I played for the return to the hearse with “The Mull of Kintyre”, “Sailing” – to reflect the Gent’s nautical interests, “The Shores of Loch Katrine”, in addition to,”Ladies of the Alamo” Thereafter, the “Flower of Scotland” & “The Massacre of Glencoe” .
