Funeral-Bagpiping-Wenvoe-Barry-Crematorium 9th Feb, 2022.
Bagpiping for the Funeral of a Troon (Ayrshire) born Gentleman today. My performances started with the arrival of the Funeral Cars at the home address in Wenvoe Vale of Glamorgan
The family selected tunes were: “Sailing” (Rod Stewart), in addition to “Flower of Scotland”.
For the departure, I played to the end of the road with “Amazing Grace”.
In addition, the family requested tunes to lead to the chapel at Memoria Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Crematorium. These were “Going Home”, “The Mull of Kintyre”, as well as, “Land of My Fathers”.
Thereafter, for the chapel entry, a repeat of “Amazing Grace” as an important family memory melody.
In conclusion, on the chapel exit, as an acknowledgement to the Gentleman’s Royal Naval past. I played “Sailing”, followed by “Calon Lan”, “The Skye Boat Song”, along with, “Flower of Scotland”.
