Interment-of-Ashes Bagpipes Langstone-Crematorium 5th June, 2021.
A return visit to Newport Langstone vale Crematorium today. This was for the ‘Interment of Ashes’ of a local lady who passed recently. I played a medley of tunes as family members arrived, which included “Oft in the Stilly Night”, “The Mist Covered Mountains”, “Highland Cathedral”, “My Home” & the requested “Calon Lan”, reflecting the lady’s Welsh Heritage.
During the Interment, I played the requested “Amazing Grace”.
This preceded the release of a single white dove from All Doved Up.White Doves for Weddings Funerals in South Wales, where I then played “Sailing” (Rod Stewart).
I then drifted away playing a Salute, from the classical style of Bagpipe Playing called Piobaireachd (Peebruck).
