John-80th-Birthday-Bagpipes-Llangybi 3rd June, 2023.
Birthday Bagpipes yesterday afternoon. Bagpiping as a Surprise for John’s 80th Birthday at the family home in Llangybi, near Usk Monmouthshire.
I started playing ‘out of site’ with the upbeat “The Green Hills of Tyrol” set of tunes as an attention grabber.
Then leading into the family party playing this and other upbeat & familiar tunes. The end of this set included “Happy Birthday”.
After introductions, I then continued with a number of Scots & Welsh favourites to plenty of singing from family members 
Thereafter, I played a number of upbeat tune sets and also included John’s favourite “Highland Cathedral”, which was repeated for my departure.
