A lovely afternoon yesterday celebrating Peter’s 80th Birthday with Surprise Bagpipes. This was with his family & friends in Cowbridge & organised by Peter’s Wife Mae.
Mae’s briefing included a specific group of personal tunes. I started with “Happy Birthday”, as well as, “The Rowan Tree”. In addition, I played “The Mull of Kintyre” which had special memories around the Campbelltown Pipe Band.
Thereafter, I played, “Highland Cathedral”, “The Gael” (aka Last of the Mohicans theme tune) & “The Battle’s O’er” (a family favourite).
I also had a great exchange Scottish & Bagpipe stories with Peter & Mae 🙂
In conclusioin, guests adopted fine hand clapping & foot tapping techniques to “Scotland the Brave” 🙂
