Surprise-Birthday-Bagpipes-Portishead-Bowling-Club 15th Jan, 2022.
A lovely day today, Bagpiping for Irene’s 99th Birthday Surprise at Portishead Bowling Club, part of the Association of Portishead Bowling, near Bristol.
I initially played as friends & family arrived. Thereafter, then to lead Irene into the venue. This was to the lively “Green Hills of Tyrol” & “The Battle’s O’er”.
In addition, I then continued with many Scots related tunes & medleys. This reflected Irene’s Cameron heritage.
For the finale, I was asked to play “Auld Lang Syne”, remembering friends not at the party. In conclusion, I followed this with “Happy Birthday” for the arrival of the cake. As well as, departing with “Scotland the Brave” 🙂
