A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at Hensol Castle yesterday. Bagpiping for the Wedding of Lauren & Carl.
A complete surprise for all except the Bride. I appeared at the last minute to lead Lauren into the handfasting ceremony. In addition, her her chosen tune was “Highland Cathedral”.
I also played during the signing of the register. With the joining of both Scots & Welsh families as one, I played “The Skye Boat Song”, along with “Myfanwy”.
Thereafter, I then led the Happy Couple to the confetti photograph playing “Mhairi’s Wedding”. In addition to, “The Barren Rocks of Aden”, “Land of My Fathers” & “Flower of Scotland”.
I also played a number of sessions in the grounds. Thereafter, I led the happy couple into the Wedding Breakfast. I conclusion, the tunes were “The Green Hills of Tyrol”, “Scotland the Brave”, along with, “Calon Lan”. Calon Lan with accompanied with guests singing 🙂
